Strategy Parameters

Trade Management

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
Max Simultaneous Trades1Maximum positions open at once. Higher = more exposure. Start with 1.
Max Trades Per Day10Daily trade limit. Prevents overtrading.
Cooldown After Loss3M15 bars to wait after a losing trade. Prevents revenge trading. Set to 0 to disable.
Start with defaults. Only increase Max Simultaneous after you've seen how the strategy performs with 1 trade at a time.

Trend Detection (Bias Engine)

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
Trend Detection Sensitivity0.30How easily the engine detects a trend. Range 0.0–1.0. Lower = more signals (less strict). Higher = fewer signals (more conviction required).
The bias engine analyzes price displacement across 5 windows: D1 macro, D1 recent, H4 macro, H4 recent, and H1. It uses a majority vote to determine the trend direction. 0.30 is a balanced default. Try 0.20 for more signals or 0.40 for fewer.

Support & Resistance

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
S/R Precision3Bars on each side to confirm a swing point. Range 1–5. Higher = fewer but stronger zones.
Zone Grouping Distance0.50Nearby zones within this ATR fraction are merged. Higher = wider, fewer zones.
Min Zone Score5.0Minimum quality score for a zone to be valid. Higher = fewer but better quality entries.
Zones are scored by confluence: multiple swing points at the same level, touches from different timeframes (M15 and H1), and proximity to recent price action. A score of 5.0 is balanced.

Breakout & Entry

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
Breakout Candle Min Body %50Minimum body-to-range ratio for breakout candles. Filters dojis and wick-heavy candles.
Retest Wait Time20Max M15 bars to wait for a retest after breakout. Signal expires if no retest.
Retest Zone Width0.15How close price must return to the broken level (ATR fraction).
Asian Session Extra Confirm1Extra confirmation candles during Asian session. Prevents false signals in low volatility.
The strategy uses two entry methods: 1) Breakout with retest ▷ price breaks an S/R level, waits for it to come back, then enters. 2) Pullback ▷ price touches an S/R zone while trend bias is moderate or strong. Both methods require the bias engine to agree with the direction.

Stop Loss & ATR

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
SL Buffer2.5Extra ATR distance beyond S/R zone for SL placement. Prevents stop hunts.
Max SL Distance6.0Maximum SL as ATR multiple. Rejects signals with overly wide stops.
Min SL Distance15.0Minimum SL in price points. For gold ≈ $1.50. Prevents unrealistically tight stops.
ATR TimeframeM15Timeframe for ATR calculation. Should match your chart.
ATR Multiplier2.0General multiplier for ATR-based calculations throughout the strategy.

Trailing Stop

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
Trailing StoptrueDynamically moves SL toward TP as price progresses.
Trailing Activation50% of TP distance before trailing starts. 50 = starts at halfway to TP.
Trailing Lock50% of progress to lock when trailing activates. 50 = secures half the current profit.
Trailing Step10Minimum SL improvement % to trigger update. Prevents excessive modifications.
Example: If TP is 100 ticks away and price reaches 50 ticks of profit (50% activation), trailing activates and moves SL to lock 25 ticks of profit (50% of 50). After that, SL continues advancing with each 10% step.

Safety Features

Protection Parameters

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
Daily Profit CapfalseBlocks new entries once daily profit reaches the cap %.
Daily Profit Cap %2.0Target daily profit to trigger the cap.
Auto-StopfalseCloses all and locks trading when equity reaches the phase target.
Auto-Stop Buffer %0.0Buffer above target to trigger auto-stop.
Daily Profit Cap is useful if your prop firm has a best-day rule. Auto-Stop ensures you never overshoot the phase target and risk giving back profits.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Auto EASY and Auto PRO?

Same strategy engine. EASY locks all strategy parameters to optimized defaults. PRO exposes 15+ parameters for customization. If you don't understand what a parameter does, use EASY.

Can I use Auto PRO on symbols other than Gold?

The strategy is designed and optimized for XAUUSD. While it may work on other symbols, the default parameters are tuned for gold's volatility profile.

What settings should I start with?

Start with all defaults. Trade for at least a week before changing anything. Then adjust ONE parameter at a time and observe the effect.

Can I change parameters while the EA is running?

Yes. Right-click the EA on the chart ▷ Properties ▷ Inputs. Changes take effect immediately. No need to restart.

What does BUY-ONLY mode mean?

The strategy only takes long (buy) positions. This is by design ▷ the bias engine, S/R zones, and breakout detection are optimized for bullish setups on gold.
